How to make a Puppet Stage
Step 1: Cut out the main window

Sketch out a rectangle on the side of the cardboard box with a 2 inch border from the edge of the box. Use the utility knife or scissors to along the line. Flip the box upside down so the opening faces down.
Step 2: Cut the Back and Sides of the box

Cut the back of the box off so it’s open from the back. For the sides and top of the stage, I left about 4 inches at the top and tapered the sides to the back of the box.
Step 3: Add the Background Curtain

Cut a piece of fabric for the curtain. It should be about 2 inches longer and wider than the box. The extra material help keep the curtain in place during use. Staple the curtain to the top of the stage.
Step 4: Decorate

Time to decorate the stage! You can paint the stage or decorate however you like. For the one shown above, we just glued construction paper onto the front.
Your puppet stage is all set and ready to go! Just place it on the edge of a table, the dinner table works, and let your kids have fun!
